Base64
A binary-to-text encoding that represents data using 64 printable ASCII characters.
Base64 encodes binary data — images, files, cryptographic keys — into a string of 64 printable ASCII characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9, + and /). It is commonly used in data URIs, email attachments (MIME), and JSON Web Tokens because it travels safely through systems that only handle text. Base64 increases the payload size by roughly 33%.
