Each click draws three independent random bytes for R, G and B. With constrained modes (pastel/vivid/dark), the random values are bounded in HSL space first, then converted to RGB.

Will the same color come up twice?

Across 16.7M possible RGB values, repeats during a session are statistically rare but possible. Use "unique mode" to prevent it.
